Being helpful to someone can be about something so small. A shoulder to cry on. A listening ear. Or sharing an experience. Helping them make a decision. Cracking a joke, to take away the tears. Letting them know you’re thinking of them.
Just being there goes a long way. Because sometimes words aren’t good enough. They don’t cut it. Or you can’t seem to find the right words. Because in some situations words fail. But then there’s so much more you can do. The little things are what counts.
And even if you feel like you aren’t very helpful, you might still change someones life. You might’ve touched them in way nobody else was able to. You opened their eyes. You made them realize that life goes on. Because you were there. You did nothing, but you were there. It seems so small, but not enough people do it.
